Can AI solve the unsolved murder of Barbara Blackstone?

Barbara Blackstone - She helped to build a billionaire..

This morning I woke up with her on my mind and wondered how many lives missed being touched by her ways...

Think about it. Think about how she had an impact on #MarcAndreessen - the billionaire and one of the reasons we all are on the internet. 

He has never given me an interview and I have tried but of course others who knew both have offered insights on why he issued the reward when her cold case was opened back up to just unsolved. 

She noticed him. She noticed his gifts and potential and she advocated for him at school knowing he needed to be challenged and appreciated. Perhaps she is the reason he felt comfortable enough in his own skin to grow ...

There's something there, you can feel it, a deep appreciation and respect. 

At first I used to think he wouldn't grant the interview because he is too big now, it wasn't important. However, now, I think it goes deeper. I believe she accepted and respected him during trying high school years when that tech giant brain stood out as different to his peers. We know how those years go when you go against the grain, it is not easy, and to go against the grain in a rural county, well, it makes it tougher ....and he stood out towering over peers and adults. I think in a way..she saved him. 

That's why he never relented to an interview, it goes deep to probably his own core issues....and again, this is just my opinion and something on my mind this morning.

I don't know why she is on my mind so much lately, but she is - I wish I could have met her in person rather than tell what I can about her story all these years later. Even so I feel like I know her and there is not a day that goes by I don't hope to hear justice rang its bell and her murder has been solved. 

There is no doubt she has touched lives and all of ours through her work and heart with one student we know about....

Imagine how many more she could have planted seeds of hope in...if only....if only she wasn't murdered and dumped with such disregard back in 1987.

For some reason and over the many years of looking into this story and reporting on it for the Messenger of Juneau County and my personal blog, this song makes me think of Barbara, every time I hear it and I never knew her.
