Seven more years..........

Yes, seven more years of KYLE!

I once was an extremely quiet, shy person.....children changed that.

And last night was yet another example of why that change occurred.

So there I was...doing a good deed. Helping a friend with her smoothie booth at Hustler Fest. A fundraising effort of hers for her church's youth group. A good cause, a good deed, and a good time.

Once the music started, so did the action for the evening...

Justin, my oldest, of course thought the music and singers were "lame."

Kyle however saw the events unraveling as an opportunity to steal the spotlight....

Oldies and country hits were the choice of many of the singers....

Hee Haw!

And then, as we were sitting there, the next thing I knew there was Kyle spinning around on the floor doing his version of break dancing.....around and around ...spinning in circles...and me dying of embarrassment.

It was later that I found out from my friend who also was visibly embarrassed at the time when Kyle brought the spotlight to our area of the room....that an elderly to which my back was turned, had thought that my prankster son was having seizures and was urging her relatives sitting by her to "help that young man" ...

Oh, but that was just the beginning of Kyle's show.......

I had a feeling he was up to something....I saw him wandering the room ...I could see the wheels turning in his in constant motion mind.....

I saw him speaking to an acquaintance....uh-oh

I saw his older brother giggling...

I got worried........

When Kyle came back, he insisted that he had convinced her to sing....

My friend who I was helping, thought it would be a pretty good (comical) show if this was the case...

So there we sat waiting....waiting for her name to be called out by the DJ.....

and then........

we heard............

"Up next is Eva...."

It was loud............

I felt my children's eyes upon me.........

I saw my friend sitting there laughing with her eyes wide open.........

"Eva, Eva....Eva....."

The DJ was now looking at me and calling out my name............

Everyone was looking.........................

"Eva get up here....C'mon Eva.................."

And what song did my darling baby tell this DJ i was going to sing................

"Super Freak" by Rick James..........

After what seemed like an eternity, and me shaking my head..my entire body... "no"
........

The DJ finally relented and went on to the next person..........

Yes, seven more years of Kyle until he is an adult and I send him off into the world..........

Oh no... I would have been MORTIFIED. Let me loose online and I can't shut up. Put me in front of real live people and I crawl slowly back into my shell, hoping no one notices me!!!
My son and brother tried to get me to dance (with a group) at a benefit a few months back - I couldn't do it. We won't talk about the funny shade of red that I turned when I had to get up in front of the 100+ people and choke out a thank you!!! The teenager has now been warned if he EVER tries to get me up in public again, I will show up at school to pick him up in my PJ's and curlers. All while calling for my honey-child at the top of my lungs.
